Competition Clinic & Schooling Show - Oct 31 and Nov 1, 2009
Improve your scores and identify ways to improve your tests.
To be held at Pacific Equestrian Center, Wilton, CA
Peggy Klump, “R” Dressage Judge, USDF Gold Medalist, CDS Board Member and multiple Horse of the Year Champion will work with riders from all levels seeking to identify weaknesses in their test riding skills and will teach them HOW to overcome issues and to earn points.
Saturday is the Competition Clinic; Riders will be judged on their test of choice, followed by a lesson to improve their feel for the test, affect the test scores, and improve the overall presentation of the test. After the lesson, the riders will ride their test again, and receive copies of both tests to see the improvements. Auditors will have the advantage of being able to hear the judge’s comments both during the schooling session and while the tests are being ridden.
Saturday evening’s session is an unmounted, interactive theory presentation on Dressage Judges’ Vocabulary, as well as a presentation on the basic criteria of dressage tests, from Training through Grand Prix. Discussion is encouraged on ways to increase your test scores. Open to auditors and riders: Even if you can’t come during the day, you can come to this.
The schooling show is Sunday and clinic riders are highly encouraged to return to test their ability to retain what they learned the day before. We hope riders will want to do both the schooling show and clinic, but it is not required to show if you clinic or clinic if you show.
This will be your last chance to earn scores in either the clinic or the schooling show that will automatically enter you as a rider in Foothill’s RAAC contest.
